My personal study with cacao and communities both Mayan and Mexica, is that ceremony is the ritual and reverence put into the preparation. The cacao is the offering that brings blessings so therefore all the energy spent preparing it must be in the vibration of the prayer. Often families gather, sing, eat, dance and hold space with one another for this process. The ceremony is bringing the cacao to life to nourish ourselves with. The lesson is in the ritual and energy to bring something to completion. It's a journey and awareness of all hands, and energies who it touches. Preparation is the time where we allow potential and new perspectives to appear.
